It sucks when work slows down, ESPECIALLY when you have a periodic big expense. We all do the best we can...
But freelance can be very tough. It's feast or famine and, while we know that during the fat times, we should be socking away money, we never do. It's like a law of physics: The more you make, the more you spend. Even with the best of intentions, we're all guilty of it — and we can't beat ourselves up over it.

Thanks Mark! Yeah the brain conversation when it’s busy usually goes “hell YES! We can finally catch up on all those long neglected expenses like new equipment or household fix ups…” then when it’s slow “ what the FUCK were you thinking??” Plus I’m not sharing major expense really, and I never know where my next paycheck is coming from.
Learning to plan ahead regardless and not be defined by the mistakes of the past!
